The business of luring business

Wayne State Professor Peter Eisinger comments in a story about the effectiveness of federal programs in luring business - a commitment by the federal government that has spent $57 billion on economic development projects since 2001 alone. State and local governments spend billions more. Eisinger says there is "extremely broad agreement as to the desirability of substantial government involvement in the creation of private sector employment."
